How does this Gel Work?
This filler adds structure and volume underneath the skin, improving the appearance of wrinkles and facial folds by bringing sunken skin back up to the surface. What is Hyaluronic Acid?
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a complex sugar present in all living cells. It is one of the major components of the dermis connective tissue matrix, along with collagen and elastin. Hyaluronic acid retains water like a sponge, absorbing more than 1,000 times its weight. This helps to attract and maintain water, which hydrates your skin and increases both its volume and density. The result is younger, more vibrant-looking skin.
Allergan, Inc., has found ways to produce, purify, and package hyaluronic acid to make it available for wrinkle correction. JUVÉDERM is one of those products, and it works very well.
