George T. Nahass, MD

Dr. George T. Nahass is a Board Certified Dermatologist and Dermatopathologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of all skin diseases, including skin cancers, acne, psoriasis, warts, rashes, and eczema to name a few. Dr. Nahass was valedictorian of the 1981 class of Rutgers University School of Pharmacy. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1988 and then completed a 3 year residency in Internal Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his 3 year residency in Dermatology at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in 1992 and joined the faculty at St. Louis in July of 1992 where he worked for 10 years. While at SLU, he completed an additional fellowship in Dermatopathology.

Dr Nahass has received many honors including the Ernest Little Award for outstanding student at Rutgers College of Pharmacy in 1981; Alpha Omega at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1985; and the Louis R. Dinon Award for excellence in teaching in 1987.

Dr. Nahass has authored or co-authored over 45 medical publications and has been an invited guest to speak at numerous lectures during his medical career.

Marilyn Stombaugh, PA-C

Marilyn Stombaugh, PA-C joined Dr. Nahaas and Skin Care Center of Southern Illinois in March of 2006 after a 20 year career as first a registered nurse and then 10 years as a family practice physician assistant with St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital.

Marilyn Stombaugh received her nursing diploma from Decatur Memorial School of Nursing and then received her bachelors in nursing from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville in 1988. She then attended the University of North Dakota Physician Assistant Certification program and received her PA-C license in 1996.

In 1997 she received the Peoples Choice Award for the best place to go in Franklin County for healthcare. In 1999 she was voted Provider of the Year and in 2002 received the Excellence Award from The Little Egypt Breast and Cervical Cancer Prevention Council. In 2005, Marilyn was honored with the OSCAR from St. Mary's Good Samaritan for the best overall customer satisfaction in the ambulatory network.

Rex Stombaugh, PA-C, MPAS

Rex Stombaugh, PA-C joined Dr. Nahass and Skin Care Center of Southern Illinois in March of 2009. Rex Stombaugh graduated from the charter Physician Assistant program in 1999 at SIU-C where he was class president. He obtained a masters degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Nebraska in 2008. Rex is a lifelong resident of Southern Illinois and has spent 10 years practicing primary care throughout the area.
